The pharmaceutical sector moves steadily towards import substitution

This Wednesday, the People’s Power Minister for Industries and National Production, Jorge Arreaza, held a meeting with representatives of the Pharmaceutical Sector of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, intending to substitute imports and the sector’s export path.

The meeting took place in Caracas and resulted in a significant exchange of proposals and made possible the articulation of the State with pharmaceutical companies to strengthen their production and distribution capacity.

“Complete articulation. We are moving towards a process of import substitution and a large industrial complex for health and life,” Minister Arreaza indicated through his Twitter account @jaarreaza.

Among those attending the meeting were spokespersons of Cifar, Cavefar, Laboratorios Calox, Canamega, Laboratorios Farma, Cavidea, Laboratorios La Santé, Laboratorio Leti, and Cavedro, among other companies of the pharmaceutical sector.

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, recently led the Economic Workshop of the 17 motors of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda and instructed to develop the Economic Plan for the period 2022-2024, with mechanisms for markets, national production and export processes of goods and products development.
