Venezuelan government grants financing to a company in the health and hygiene sector in Mérida.

This Friday, Jorge Arreaza, People’s Power Minister of Industries and National Production, attended the delivery of financing given to Laboratory Chemycal’s Soma C.A., located in Lagunillas, Mérida state, by Banco Bicentenario, as part of the promotion of investment and the strengthening of the scientific, cultural and technological zone.

During media statements, the head of the industrial portfolio pointed out the experience and technological development of the company in the field of chemicals for hygiene, the home, and the health of the Venezuelan people

“Thanks to these products, hospitals are being disinfected in Venezuela, outpatient clinics, Integral Diagnostic Centers; thanks to these products, many Venezuelans are now protected against COVID-19,” he said.

Chemycal’s Soma Laboratories produces and distributes household, pharmaceutical, and hospital supplies.

“It is a university turned into a factory,” said Minister Arreaza while guaranteeing an immediate renewal of the financing as long as the company settles the acquired commitments.

The head of the Ministry of Industries and National Production also underlined the productive potential of the State of Merida, despite the unfavorable effects of the illegal blockade imposed on Venezuela by the United States.

“It has been an immense privilege to be in Mérida and to see how Mérida resisted and is now in the stage of reactivation and growth,” he added.

Present at the event were Simon Zerpa, president of the financial institution; Diana Castillo, vice-minister for Small and Medium Industry and New Productive Forms; and Jehyson Guzman, deputy to the National Assembly for the Andean entity.

The authorities toured the company’s health and hygiene products plant and verified the research its processes, productive rigor, and good labor practices.
