Venezuela and Cuba explore new cooperation alliances in the health sector

The Vice-Minister of Small and Medium Industry and New Productive Forms, Diana Castillo, with the authorities of various entities attached to the ministerial body, held a fruitful meeting this Wednesday.  Representatives of Biocubafarma attended the meeting. Boicubafarma is a business organization that produces medicines, equipment, and high-tech services to improve human health.

The meeting explored the possibilities of cooperation in the field of health, with the shared vision of establishing commercial alliances that will allow Venezuela to generate products, goods, and services demanded by the Cuban pharmaceutical industry in exchange for shared benefit.

To this end, the efforts will aim to generate production lines, especially those of glass packaging and other supplies used in the health sector.

Likewise, the parties evaluated the possibility of expanding the bilateral cooperation map to other areas and sectors.

The authorities of Venezolana del Vidrio (Venvidrio), the Venezuelan Plastics Corporation (Coveplast), and the Corporation of Intermediate Industries of Venezuela (Corpivensa) accompanied the meeting with the Cuban delegation.

Within the Caracas-Havana Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the Republic of Cuba maintain a broad bilateral cooperation agenda; This Agreement bases on a series of agreements signed in health, sports, and education, among other sectors.
