This Wednesday, the People’s Power Minister of Industries and National Production, Jose Biomorgi, and the Deputy Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for Venezuela, Rosicler Gómez Mackliff, signed this Wednesday a memorandum of International Technical Cooperation. This memorandum will contribute to the promotion of the national productive sector and the improvement of the digital infrastructure of this office.
The Deputy Minister for Multilateral Issues of the People’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ruben Dario Molina, and the Deputy Minister for Small and Medium Industry and New Productive Forms, Diana Castillo, attended the signing of the agreement.
The objective of the technical cooperation with the UNDP is to implement a joint strategy to strengthen the technical assistance programs implemented by the industrial portfolio to strengthen the capacities of entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
The memorandum signed provides the application of a transfer of methodologies developed by the UNDP to strengthen the business management capacities of MSMEs and enterprises.
There are expectations on supporting the strengthening of institutional capacities for information management for the design and implementation of public policies for business and industrial development by supporting the development and implementation of the Ministry’s information system, called Geoportal and Observatory for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME)-Small and Medium Industry (SME).
UNDP is currently developing a program in Venezuela called “Support for strengthening social and productive resilience in the face of the effects of Covid-19 in Venezuela”. The program aims to provide direct technical assistance to strengthen business management capacities and promote the resilience of micro and small enterprises in the operation and development of entrepreneurship.
