During a visit to Zulia State on Friday, the People’s Power Minister of Industries and National Production, Jorge Arreaza, inspected the production processes of the pharmaceutical laboratory SM Pharma, located in Maracaibo.
From the facilities of the pharmaceutical company, the minister congratulated the work teams that have made available to the people of Zulia and Venezuela a quality industry. These are highly professional rigor processes. They also have a range of essential medicines. These include antihypertensives, antidiabetics, and antibiotics.
“Excellent quality in its processes and medicines, diverse production, fair prices, and distribution to those who need them,” he stressed.
Minister Arreaza praised the work of the company’s workers and executives, who “have placed this great infrastructure at the service of the Venezuelan people.”
Similarly, he recognized the efforts of the Governor’s Office of Zulia State and the wise decision to occupy the pharmaceutical company to guarantee the health of the people of Zulia.
In September 2018, Governor Omar Prieto announced the occupation of SM Pharma for incurring administrative and labor irregularities, as the production and distribution of medicines to the detriment of the people.
The pharmaceutical company had been under investigation since 2015 for administrative inconsistencies in its production.
