This Friday, the People’s Power Minister of Industries and National Production, Jorge Arreaza, visited the Siderúrgica del Orinoco “Alfredo Maneiro” (SIDOR). The visit focused on supervising and verifying the correct operation of the production processes carried out by the metallurgical workers.
Siderúrgica del Orinoco is the principal Venezuelan steel producer and presents as an integrated steel complex that uses Direct Reduction and Electric Arc Furnace technologies for steel production using the natural resources available in the Guayana region.
During the tour, the equipment operations and the application of good industrial practices were reviewed to ensure the protection of the environment, workers, and machinery.
“The billet steel mill is in full activity, soon we will activate other lines,” shared the head of the industries portfolio through his official account @jaarreaza on the Twitter platform.
It is important to remember that in mid-September of this year, production processes were as well supervised. Such as steel rods from billets, the production of steel billets, the activation of furnaces, and reduction processes.
Minister Arreaza praised the effort and labor carried out daily by the working class at the Guayana plant to guarantee its optimum operation. This, together with the deployment of the National Executive for public and private companies, strengthens and promotes the Venezuelan productive apparatus.
