Governments of Venezuela and South Africa explore industrial cooperation projects

The People’s Power Minister of Industries and National Production, Jose Biomorgi, held a videoconference this Friday with representatives of the South African company Eqol, to advance towards the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.

From this perspective, the head of the industrial portfolio welcomed any possibility to strengthen political, economic, commercial, and cultural relations with South Africa and expressed his interest in two specific lines of action: the possibility of purchasing products manufactured in Venezuela and the possibility of joint investment in the José Abreu de Lima project to produce steel.

Minister Biomorgi highlighted the progressive recovery of Venezuelan Basic enterprises, despite the illegal blockade imposed on the country.

For his part, Maggs Naidu, representative of the company Eqol, expressed his willingness to work together with the Venezuelan government.

The South African businessman informed that he represents different companies interested in the project and expressed his interest in investing in infrastructure, wells, and other necessary projects.
