Russia and Venezuela strengthen strategic relations after a visit by Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov

Russia and Venezuela strengthen strategic cooperation relations within the High-Level Intergovernmental Commission (CIAN); after the official visit of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Yuri Borisov.

The Sectoral Vice-President for Economy, Tareck El Aissami, stated from the Simon Bolivar Hall of the People’s Power Ministry for Petroleum that this meeting made it possible to review the development plans framed in the bilateral relations under the premises of mutual respect and brotherhood ties.

In this sense, El Aissami added that this meeting “has allowed continuing evaluating and widening the horizons of this virtuous cooperation based on more than 20 cooperation agreements in different areas, in which the energy sector stands out”.

Minister El Aissami then pointed out that the relations between Russia and Venezuela have played an active role in the consolidation of the OPEC+ declaration, highlighting that so far “we have managed to overcome the negative impacts caused by the pandemic and the stability of a fair price in the hydrocarbons market.”

It is important to note that in October 2021, Russia and Venezuela signed important agreements towards the strategic partnership expansion of cooperation as an expression of the constant evolution of the Russian-Venezuelan diplomatic relations.

Both countries have maintained bilateral integration bonds in the last 20 years, to dynamize and boost areas of cooperation for sources diversification, growth, and identification of potentialities.
